About Wavelink

WaveLink is a leading telecommunications company operating across multiple South American countries, including Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay. They provide a wide range of communication solutions, including national and international fixed-line telephone services, public phone booths, telecenters, and single-channel telephony. What's more, they offer diverse home internet options, including cutting-edge technologies like FTTH, HFC, VDSL, and ADSL, and a platform from which their clients can watch live TV, movies and series on various devices, anytime, anywhere.

The Problem

Our client had two distinct and critical requirements. First of all, they needed a solution to monitor and display network issues and disconnections within their HUB/NODES boxes on a geographically referenced map. This was vital for enhancing operational efficiency, reducing downtime, and ensuring uninterrupted service for their customers. 

In addition, they sought a predictive solution for the prepaid service customers segment, enabling them to forecast the number of days between the credit due date and the next recharge. These dual needs made up the basis of our project, addressing essential aspects of network optimization and customer service


The Challenge

For the first requirement, the primary obstacle was to generate an accurate graphical representation of HUB/NODES boxes with issues related to disconnection and resets. This representation needed to be displayed on a map with precise georeferenced locations.

As for the second challenge, it entailed the development of predictive models capable of classifying clients based on the remaining days until their credit was due for recharge. Designing these models to provide accurate predictions  demanded intricate data analysis and modeling. The objective was to deliver actionable insights for the prepaid service customers segment, allowing for more informed decision-making and proactive customer engagement.

Our Goals

Within the on-demand platform, we have successfully implemented three QoE domains, the first one related to registration. An outstanding factor impacting user experience is the occurrence of device resets.

The achievement here lies in our ability to provide a comprehensive, graphical, and georeferenced visualization of the situation. It unlocks the power to spot and understand patterns, allowing us to establish effective guidelines. The result was a positive impact on clients' NPS, heightened retention rates, and a significant boost to the CEI. This accomplishment brings about enhanced customer experiences and operational success. 

In the realm of predictive modeling, we've crafted intricate models to classify clients based on the remaining days until their credit renewal. This accomplishment is a game-changer, as it empowers our client to take focused and effective marketing actions, customizing their offers to cater to different client types.
